Nice, they were the better pair but fell behind in the second and the breaker was a bit of a coin flip. I believe Emily's original partner ended up not coming to Birmingham so Naef was a last minute pairing and glad they sneaked in and took the win.

Shows in the draw on the LTA website, and Katie is on the schedule tomorrow to play round 2.

Also I see in the doubles that Hrunkacova and Valdmannova re through to the doubles SF after just one game.

On the WTA tournament summary page, at the bottom in the "Who's playing" section, scroll right through the seeds, Tomljanovic is showing as "eliminated" (rather harsh terminology?) too.
