British Tennis Forum June 2026 Player of the Month Award - Nominations thread

Just a quick re post as I know not many check this thread frequently. Im not going to be able to run the June player of the month vote - weve booked a last minute break away - so Im hoping someone will step up and offer to post and manage it.

In essence whats needed:

- close the nominations at sometime Sunday evening (closing it just means announcing a close time and that it is closed , not physically closing the post thread)
- preparing the poll for the nominees and posting that with the rules etc later Sunday night. When setting a poll there is an option to say how long to run it for and I usually do 48 hours. There is an England match Tuesday starting at 9 so Id start the poll on Sunday somewhere before 9 so it is set to finish comfortably before England starts - maybe start it Sunday around 7 or 8? Evening is best with work commitments.
- keeping the poll alive so people see it with various updates on the polls process, scoring etc
- the poll should be set to close after 48 hours or Tuesday evening (maybe set it to close before the England match starts at 9 pm?!) so be around to announce the final score and who wins it , top two etc.

It really isnt difficult, just needs a bit of time and managing to set up and nurture along. If you think you can do it, send me a DM (no one has yet) or just post here that youll take it on.

If youre not sure how to do a poll, why not start a new topic as a test and see where it says attach a poll in setting up the topic and it should be clear how to do it. But Im happy to exchange messages for some free of charge tuition !

Adding to Henry P's narrative ...

Nominations list:

1. GB Boys Wheelchair Team - winning the Junior World Team Cup, won all their matches without losing a set in 13 rubbers played, losing just 46 games in those 13 matches.
Well done Matt Knoesen and Will Barton - imperious.

2. Giles Hussey - winning his first challenger title, a CH50 in Centurion, South Africa, and looks like he will take out his CH ranking as a result, tbd next week.

3. Matthew Knoesen - for winning the French Open junior wheelchair singles and doubles titles, beating top seeded Lantermann in the final and adding to the World Team Cup win from the previous week

4. Alfie Hewett/Gordon Reid - winning the French wheelchair mens doubles title, taking their first slam in 12 months and clearly showing they are the best pair in the game once more.

5. Henry Patten - French Open doubles RU with Harri H. Only the 2nd time since 1936 that there has been British representation in the RG final, the first being last year with Joe & Neal. Henry ( & Harri ) go to joint doubles WR 1 for the first time, from a previous best of joint WR 3. Followed this by being RU at Queen's.

6. Allegra Korpanec Davis - follows up a QF at W15 Szentende with achieving a final at W15 Banja Luca for 10pts which takes out her CH848 up to 837 in live ranking.

7. Freya Christe & Eden Silva - won the Caserta W75 and Ilkley WTA 125 titles in successive weeks ( their 3rd and 4th titles in the last 2 months following a W35 and a W50 ). Since the start of the month Freya is up from WR 213 to WR 144, and Eden up from WR 212 to WR 156.

8. Olivia Nicholls - won the Queens WTA500 with Tereza Mihalikova on the second anniversary of the partnership. Their biggest title to date (pipping last year's W500 Berlin title just because this one was on home soil !). Liv is close to her CH of 21 although her ranking will fluctuate over the next few weeks.

9. Katie Boulter - beating world number 2 and top seed, Elena Rybakina, having earlier beaten 8th seed Leylah Fernandez, Katie reached the semis at the WTA 500 in London. Beating Rybakina was her career best single win by ranking

10. Emma Raducanu - sailed through to the Queen's final without dropping a set, including wins over in form seeds Cirstea and Jovic. Ran out of gas a little in the final but probably her best tennis since winning the US Open. Could be enough to get her seeded for Wimbledon.

12. Henry Searle - in his first grass event of the season, Henry won his first challenger title in Dublin, beating 4 top 200 players in the process and bagging a circa 80 plus place ranking rise as he goes into Wimbledon qualies unbeaten on grass. Thats impressive.
