British Tennis Forum Player of the Month Vote - May 2026

Anyway- I couldnt split Katie and Alicia, both won two events, Katies included a 75 and 35 level versus a pair of 35s. Both unbeaten. But Katie was top seed in both hers and Alicia was first and second. So I cant split them other than give a nod to Katie for doing so well given her general fitness.

But Toby, for me, caused the big surprise and at the higher level- qualifying for a slam on a surface that isnt your surface. That surprised me and he gets my vote!

And Katie wont need my vote anyway!

This may be a short list compared to some months but every nomination is very impressive.

Tough choice but I went for Toby. Getting through qualifying for any grand slam is very hard, first time for anything is always worth celebrating and he beat some strong opposition to get there.

 Good vote! Haha

Toby for me - this time last year outside the world 1000 - now becomes only the fourth Briton in the open era to qualify at RG. I read he has only ever played 9 tournaments on clay

Ha, yesterday you were saying Katie wouldn't need your vote as if she was a certainty. I thought at the time you went very early on that after the first few votes.

Ah, I actually hadnt seen any votes when i voted, I was the 6th to vote and assumed most would go to Katie. Still surprised

most havent ! But my comment was just a gut instinct at the time - which we all know, we should never trust!

Tbf, the first 5 had all publicly declared, 3 of them for Katie, so I had thought that was what you had picked up on. Whatever, looks as if it might be a very good contest. Make your pick, people.
