The oldest player in the qualis draw loses to the youngest player in the qualis draw

It's a shame for us but it was always a win-win match really (well, for me, at least )

Dan played pretty well and certainly had his chances, esepcially in the second - and was so 'gracious' and sporting to the youngster

Who played an amazing match

His Lebanese family are very proud of their identity (quite naturally) and have not had an easy time of it recently

So wonderful to see a 2009-born boy come out and really rise to the occasion

6-4 6-4

Nice win albeit against a pretty awful Sweeny

Great win for the youngster - shame it comes at the expense of Dan. But considering his background, it's a nice story.

Jay losing a load of points this week. Be interesting to see what happens with him re Wimbledon wildcards.

Yes. As above, Sweeny has just turned up (for the cheque, presumably) and no preparation on clay

The bookies had Jay as the overwhelming favourite

But it was nice to see Jay dispose of him, intelligently, not trying to outplay him, or trip himself up. Just decent percentage tennis. Get the job done sort of tennis.

Yes, his Skopje title, and the 70 points, roll off

But he then went and lost in R1 of all the tournaments after that, right up till Wimbly

So he's got some room to add some good points over the next few weeks - as well as here, of course, which he didn't play last year - and he has a very decent chance in QR2 too

Any thoughts on Faurel, CD?

 I don't know a lot about him

He's only 20 and very much a clay courter

Or, at least, he thinks he is - and he won a J500 on clay as a junior a couple of years ago (and got up to #15 in juniors)

But he's been playing clay for the last few months, in the US and in Europe (and North Africa)

And it's been a nightmare - he's barely won a match

I didn't see any of today's match and I can understand why the FFT gave him a wildcard

But, in my mind, there's absolutely nothing for Jay to be scared of - I expect Jay to be favourite - I've never beena mega fan of Jay's style of tennis but I would make him favourite

Maybe. Dont bet though!

My two winners are Jan and Arthur in fact, Jay and Evo my maybes- hence the 3.

Well, I'll put 10p on Aziz for you then Jon - coz otherwise it's hot air biggrin

....Just done it....

You've got Aziz at 3.25 (v Felix at 1.33)

I'll donate the winnings to charity biggrin

Well, one of the two maybe's came through (as hedged!). Maybe the 10p will also come good - hope so, and I lose my 3 out of 12 estimate in the process
