Mmm could well be curtains for Emma. Dianne broke to lead 6-5 and will come out to serve for the match. Not necessarily for this tournament but there is an interesting piece on the BBC about Bianca Andreescu who won her first slam at 19 like Emma. She dropped down to W35s to build back her game after injury. She is playing in FO qualifying and had a nice win in the first round. A lot to admire in her story. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/tennis/articles/c3e24xw8p2no
A good effort after two months out. I didn't see any fitness problems, she was going for her shots, running and retrieving well, saving lots of break points. Her first serves were effective when they went in but she served a few too many DFs. I think it was just a case of lacking match sharpness.
Seriously, I didn't see any of the match, and I hope mainly rust, and while it's the level of player Emma would certainly generally expect to beat and reasonably comfortably, Peter too at least seems pretty encouraged. Though I do read differing messages on how fit she appeared to be.

Likewise I thought it was a decent effort from a player who basically hasn't played for months. There were some good points and Emma did well to get to 4-2 in each set but losing the next game on serve really was her undoing. I thought she fought well and looked ok fitness wise. The proof will be in how her body reacts after it has cooled down etc.
Parry has had a poor season until last week in Paris. She carried over that confidence and it was this I think that saw her win in the end.
