Well, Mimi is definitely back! Takes the first set 6-2. Doesnt seem to be any cobwebs to brush away! Last service game won to love.

Nice practice session for Mimi on her return against a lowly ranked opponent. Maybe she will have a tougher match in round two. Good to see her back on court though and playing well.

Clings on for a tiebreak but is really struggling physically. I think she's trying to stave off cramp in both legs rather than it being more serious, but she's only hitting her serve at about 70% and not pushing off at all, just spinning it in like she's doing a coach demonstration.

In some respects I am not surprised as Mimi hasnt played competitive tennis in months. However she hasnt been forthcoming about any injury issues so it is difficult to judge if this is just a fitness issue or something more serious. Remembering her trip to Cambridge Uni she seems to be keeping options open. I think we could do with a little bit more transparency for her fans and aporters.
