Good win for Hamish hope he picks up more points here as he has Wimbledon qualies points to defend in June.

Hamish did well at Wimbledon Q, reaching the FQR, I watched a couple of his matches.

He had come through the Q WC play-offs, and in spite of how he performed last year I think he may well have to face the play-offs again, such is the depth on our men's side just now. Though still time to move up the rankings plus impress in the early grass court events.

I wonder if they'll do the same as last year and put the semi finalists through. It would mean only offering 5 qWC initially but it might be the best way given the competition. The playoffs are going to be very competitive.

It will be interesting how they deal with the intense competition for men's WCs.

I think I'd prefer that they made choices ( well, as long as they choose the players I would choose  ), using up Q WC spots, and just left 2 from the play-offs.

L16:  (WC) Karim Bennani (MAR) WR 575 defeated Paul Jubb WR 280 by 7-5 4-6 5-0 retired  bleh

The match was suspended for a while at the end of the second set.  I assume that Paul had picked up some kind of injury.

He & his Polish partner have now given Coulibaly & Hemery a walkover into the semi-finals of the doubles, so it must be.  cry

It was Hamish who beat the Algerian and in R2, Oscar lost to him in R1.
