Jodie is an interesting choice. I mean she's been good in the doubles i suppose and someone who can partner all three singles players.

Am I right they can select a squad of 5, so one more could be added if they see fitness in players like Emma, Fran, Sonay even? Or add someone like Liv?

I'd have picked Katie S over Jodie at present but I get wanting to keep the potential doubles pairing of Harriet and Jodie if she doesn't just want to take Maia/Liv as a doubles specialist

Yes, they can have a squad of 5. I get Annie's thoughts on keeping together those who were succesful in Australia, but as the tie is a month off there is time to make changes if needed.

Clearly a stronger team on paper than the team vs Australla of Harriet, Mika, Katie S and Jodie where the win was a big shock.

Maia wins her 2nd WTA 250 title in 2 weeks, in her 3rd such final in 3 weeks, with 3 different partnets, one of whom was Harriet, with whom she is entered into the US Open. Maia will rise to doubles QR 49.

I think she is probably more adaptable than Liv (?) though she has anyway partnered Harriet quite a few times.

I recognise that Harriet & Jodie had a very good and unexpected win in the Australian tie, and Jodie is definitely a good doubles player. But I am far from convinced that Jodie is a better option than Maia.

As the finals approach, there has been quite a lot of talk sbout the squad in other threads, particuiarly lately in the Portugal W50 threads.

Where are folk currently re Mika's and Jodie's positions and thoughts on additions ( squad of up to 5 players ) and / or replacements?

I don't enjoy saying this but Jodie definitely shouldn't be in the squad based on her play right now, Mika I can understand although I'd prefer Hannah (if we want one of our teenagers) on current form.

I'd have Maia in over Jodie and then tossup between Heather, Alicia (not played since August but entered for tournament beginning 21/9) and Sofia
