Week 14 - 2026 Billie Jean King Cup - Qualifiers - Melbourne, Australia

My vote would be for Louis Cayer - helping two singles players make a doubles team yet again.

I imagine Australia will be making some changes to their BJK squad before they next appear. On paper they should have won 3-0. Who was their captain?

Well done, a great win when we didn't expect it! A pity to see no mention at all in today's Telegraph sports section of Friday's two wins and the match in general. I know there's golf, grand national, Bath rugby, football, of course. They did find a bit of room for women's rugby, plus managed to get a report on the Friday night football, west ham wolves in, which they don't always bother with when it finishes late But they make room for pointless articles about both Liverpools season, and Slot, and whether Tottenham's new manager will make any difference. It sometimes seems with GB women's tennis it is all about Emma and if she is not playing they hardly bother covering anything (outside of grand slams, and the odd masters tournament).

Australia not the only team with problems. The USA are 0-2 having fielded Kessler WR48 and Jovic WR16 in singles.
