RE: Week 14 - 2026 Billie Jean King Cup - Qualifiers - Melbourne, Australia

The BJK Cup website shows Harriet v Talia as Match 4 and just a 20 minute break after the doubles. Also 15 minutes between the singles.

Harriet and Jodie take the first set 6-3, and then convert their *sixth* break point in the second set to go up *2-1

It's full advantage scoring for live BJK ties so could be a long way to go still.

And then take the second set 6-4 .

Haha, well what do I know about anything. The girls were great (mostly), the Aussies were pretty poor. Amazing stuff.

I do like them finally moving the doubles to third match, it works better as Davis Cup has regularly shown. I thought this was going to go to the final rubber today, pleased it's not! They'll play one of the singles as a dead rubber I believe.

Yes, I got my Talia's and Taylah's mixed up. Either way, what a tie. Incredible.

Those two Aussies haven't lost a BJK Cup tie ever, or even a set, apparently. Go girls!

What just happened we went to Australia with the most likely result being a 3-0 loss and came away with a 3-0 win. biggrin

The whole team deserves at least an MBE.

Looks like they're playing both singles Katie playing Emerson Jones now lost the 1st set 7-5 and Mika still showing as playing.
Pleased that Katie got a match.
It would be a shame to go all that way and then cancel a couple of rubbers.

Swan did all she could do today, tried to keep the play up and down the court. The back tightened up in the second set, and so the consistency drops. It's just great to see her on court, there's more good matches to come. Jones is a talented player, quick to attack, quick to the ball.

I was just hunting around for coverage, but couldn't find a stream in the usual places. I see from the BBC that Katie lost 7-5 6-3, and Mika v Kimberly is showing as cancelled.

Well done to Harriet and Jodie, that's a good win over the two experienced Aussies.
