Both our guys' L16 matches are under way. Both lost their opening service games. Early days and my money is still on Toby at least to come through.

Toby got off to a v. poor state, but has just got one of the breaks back.  Neumayer to serve at 3-2.

Aided by some net cords, Felix wins the 1st set tie break 7-2.

Toby lost the 1st set and is under some pressure at the start of the 2nd

Toby.  3-6 1-1* after previously having won 21 successive sets in his run of 16 successive wins.

 Out of interest, was this on the clay or indoors? 

I suspect Toby has a learning curve to go on re clay. If it was indoors, surprised he went down this easily. On clay, not at all surprised!

Strange looking last couple of games from Marco gives Felis the W.   Maybe he had some injury niggle, but his mind was elsewhere.

Yes, the weather was looking pretty good as they played outdoors today in spite of the forecast not having looked great.

Pity that Toby lost 3 tight games after getting back to *3-3 in the first set. Overall he was well beaten though.

Well done to Felix though, one guy who is very much at home on the surface. Apart from 3 challenger hard court tournaments in India in February ( reached a final and a SF ) he has played exclusively on clay for over a year. Hopefully we will see him on grass this year with him presumably going to be well in the mix for a Wimbledon.Qualifying WC in spite of being away from the surface since Wimbledon Q 2024 ( when we had fewer camdidates for WCs ).

For now Toby is live ranked 169 against his CH 171 and Felix live ranked 231 against his CH 242.
