I wasn't underestimating Zhang's abilities, but my optimism was obviously misplaced. cry

I didn't see the match. But I do see Zhang's record :

During 2023 and 2024 he made 3 Slam R3s ( 2 at Roland Garros ) and 2 other Slam R2s, reaching at least a R2 in all 4 Slams, and also reached 2 clay masters QFs. Was still WR 51 at Indian Wells last year, after which he only played 3 more tournaments during the rest of the year, all in September. So indeed anywhere near his best clearly a very good all round player but seemingly particularly on clay.

Jack is about 150 points away from top 100. He has nothing to defend until June so its not an impossible task.
