Jan. I think we'l have to wait a week or so. Others will be having the same problem and will be emailing in.

I think driving is not an option. There is limited parking in the whole area at the best of times, and practically none at all during qualifying. I was talking to Alicia's mum at the recent W50 and she had to park more than 10 minutes walk away. The walk up from Barnes isn't too bad, through the woods then up Priory Lane.

OK Thanks, coming in from Essex its not the greatest journey! Will just have to deal with it. Just hope there's some British interest still!

Mia Pohankova should get a quali wildcard

Every year, the LTA gives last year's junior winner a quali WC (unless she doesn't need one, or doesn't want one)

That's fair enough ( is it an actual rule that the AELTC have in plsce or more just convention thst they get at least a QWC if they want one? )

We don't have great depth looking for Q WCs among our women ( essentially players ranked outside the top 400 ) so whatever it is not unreasonable for one more to face the play-offs.

I'm also from Essex, so have done the journey., via Stratford and Waterloo. Decided to stay over this year rather than brave the rush hour each way.

I normally park a 5-10 minute walk away on vicarage road then just walk through Palewell Park. Comes straight out onto Bank Lane. Never had an issue parking there. I havent done my usual yearly check to see if at CPZs have changed. But its not that near stations so think it should still be fine.

My picks for wildcards, presuming Fran gets in directly:
1) Harriet Dart
2) Mika stojsavljevic
3) Mimi Xu
4) Katie Swan
5) Alicia Dudeney
6) Jodie Burrage
7) Heather Watson
8) Venus Williams

Qualifying
1) Hannah Klugman
2) Emily Appleton
3) Lily Miyazaki
4) Ella McDonald
5) Amelia Rajecki
6) Victoria Allen
7) Danielle Britton
8 & 9) playoff wildcards

I thinks MDWC will really depend now on if Serena Williams requests one for singles or not and I also think in qualifying we have to many women battling for a wildcard that the rule about junior winner getting wildcard should be thrown out this year its the same with the men.

If Heather does manage to get a main draw WC it will surely be her last and she could consider herself fortunate especially if she has a poor grass season build up, her Birmingham qualifier was disappointing. I'd be slightly surprised if Marni doesn't get a quali WC if she's fit and had some matches on grass before they announce the WCs

That's the route I walked up from Mortlake station last year - much nicer than Priory Lane.

Aus Open do it as well.

I swear I saw it in the Grand Slam rule book before but no longer, but then again I'm not sure the other 2 ever did it so not sure.

I've always understood it to be a convention but one that has always been respected (subject to it being needed and wanted)

Mia is also pretty close to direct qualifying so it seems even more likely (i.e. they wouldn't say, you're miles off, last year was a fluke, whatever)
