A story about Holger Rune, now stuck in Dubai, and he wasn't even there to play (he's out for most of 2026) bleh

Yeah, he's in Doha, came to watch the tennis and rehab after it finished. I am not sure anyone going to Muscat is viable tbh, although Iran see's Oman as a neutral state, it is a tough drive. The Muscat airport is a bit ropey as well, nowhere as developed as Dubai or Abu Dhabi or Doha. Having said that, Muscat and Oman are beautiful, the country is the most stunning in the Middle East. Well worth a visit if the falseness of Dubai and UAE/Qatar don't appeal.

Was next on my to do list.  Hopefully by October when I was planning to visit, things will stabilise.

Players rushed off court as explosions heard nearby, looks like it's at the oil facility: news.sky.com/video/fire-at-uaes-fujairah-oil-facility-as-drone-attack-intercepted-13514579

Ivashka has posted a couple of emails on his Instagram stories, supposedly from the ATP, that this and next week's tournament have been cancelled

The first email that says the tournament is cancelled, if real, looks very suspicious and ask players for 5,000 Euros for a Charter flight to Milan and to use WhatsApp to register their interest. The second email which looks more professional says the ATP is not organising a charter flight but exploring available travel options with third party providers and to liaise with the ATP supervisor or Player Relations team for assistance.

BBC running with it. The £5 or whatever it was per player seems a bad show from the ATP, I hope theyve reneged on that. It does seem to be from them.

Cancelling both events makes sense. Harri H and Henry still stuck there, Harri has his whole family with him.

The Russians managed to leave. Upsetting that so many are still stuck there.

Even if the tournament had carried on if a player had managed to sort a flight theyed have surely have taken it which would have made a bit or a mess of it. Not ideal but thats the world we seem to be currently in.
