I can live with Dimitrov (although seeing him in qualies for £20 would be a bargain), but Goffin is a no, won't add anything

 I agree.

Although I think Jon was only suggesting Goffin for a quali wildcard, which isn't so bad, but - in a way - why bother?

I mean, he got a quali wildcard here, at RG - but, then, he's Belgian and a big chunk of norther France will feel far more kinship with him than some guy down in Nice

Doesn't apply to Wimbledon, though

Yeah, that is what i meant; Goffin for a QWC, as an option, Dimitrov for a MDWC.

I take CDs point re why bother, but he is a name at that level, not only with a bit of back history at Wimbledon but titles on grass like Ilkley, a DC final versus Andy Murray and the lads in 2015.

I guess I was throwing in an alternative.

Yes, it's not utterly unreasonable biggrin

But I still think it's justifiable in France (Belgium/French crossover and all that) but far less warranted in the UK where there's no geographic tie at all, just a bit of CV

Not sure where Arthur is.
Interesting to see Jan, Liam, Jay, George all continuing to play on clay that week as well.

Could Arthur be in qualies in atp 250 in Netherlands maybe?

Oli Tarvet finishes as the top ranked Brit in the college rankings to get the NCAA place in the WC play-offs if he signs in. If, as I expect, he gets a WC of some sort the next in line for the NCAA place is Will Jansen.

you'd expect, after last years performance for Oli, that he would get a wildcard of some sort into qualies at least

Surely if no WC he will get directly into the WC play offs anyway?

yes but then he has to qualify to qualify

Given last year (and finishing top of the college guys), you'd think he'd deserve a quali wildcard straight off
