Weeks 9&10 - WTA1000 - Indian Wells, USA Hard

Absolutely amazing. I did think she had a chance against Maddy, but was afraid she might not be fully fit as appeared to be injured in her previous match. Did anybody watch, did she need a trainer on at all?

Just read the Bbc report. Indeed she was,and is still, troubled with a back injury, and played through the discomfort. What a trooper:

R16: Sonay Kartal (GBR) WR54 (CH=44) vs (3) Elena Rybakina (KAZ) WR3 (=CH)

I imagine whoever wins this match will have an understated celebration....

Gibson, Siniakova & Kartal I think - "approximately" two.

No, there are three. Sonay WR44, Talia Gibson WR112 and Katerina Siniakova WR44 - facing seeds 3,7 and 9 respectively

Well, hopefully  her team would have advised her if it was risky to play.
