You know, putting people down who to me showed obvious signs of autism or another learning disability maybe isn't really on for me.
It's good to be kind in this world.
Oh, that's such a shame
And yes, i agree
It was clear that he was a little 'quirky' and, tbh, he was getting rather bullied on this forum, and I'm not even sure if he realised until it hit him right between the eyes

Kindness is in short supply these days. Jonny may not have done things the way others do but he still provided info and camaraderie and any member is a loss.

That's really sad. I found Johnny hard work at first but then got to like him and he was always a big supporter of the PoM voting stuff. Once we had ironed out some kinks, I got to like him
This is such a sad story and I'm pleased you're going to get in touch Jon and tell Jonny how much he will be missed. I must admit I was quite shocked when I saw the messages criticising Jonny's posts as I have always had the feeling that contributors on this board are caring people and accepting of all.
Thanks SuperT - I emailed him but haven't heard back. If he is checking these threads out as a guest, I hope he reads these posts and decides he would like to try again, perhaps we will all be a bit wiser.
I, for one, wasn't kind to Johnny in his early days around here - I posted a few times that someone was voting last second in my votes and creating a draw. I thought it may be him. But he came through regardless and helped, with Indy, when I was not around to finish votes off with scores updates and urging people to vote and I appreciated that a lot.
So I do hope he makes a return and we can all move on - my votes seem to need all the people supporting them that they can this season, it has been a very slow start and this month looks dire so far, maybe Johnny can create several new persona's and give the voting a boost!
FWIW personally I find some value in being made aware just that someone has won or lost. And it has almost always been reliable info such as it, so I can immediately update some of my ranking sheets based on that and / or also check the score or await someone such ss TA or SC to provide more info.
But I would ask Johnny Aitch please to provide further info where you are aware of it rather than unnecessariy leave such an extra bit to such valued members of the forum and / or ask you to communicate as to why you don't / ( can't? ). Providing such info would make you a more valued member of our community and frankly less annoying.
And TA, certainly please don't leave. As far as I can see Johnny's presence and info is 'just' not reducing your workload as it potentially could but isn't really adding to it. So at worst continue doing what you have clearly enjoyed doing over the years rather than leave in haste and then regret it.
Really sorry that you find me annoying. I will deactivate my account tomorrow.
Oh dont do that Jonny. Im no expert but sometimes you need another perspective on here. Come back x
For my part, my post just quoted again above was as proved a very bad attempt at trying to help provide peace and stability. Check the first patagraph - I did find value in his posts, the second unfortunately contained that "annoying" word, honest from my point of view ( I can be quite easily annoyed, including at times by good posters on here ) but probably better not said.
I hadn't appreiated how that might be taken, and certainly not that it would be quoted as Johnny said he was going to leave. Though I can now see how things may possibly be as wolf described above.
I do not think anyone was wanting Johnny to leave, and I do hope that Jon's email entices him back.
I do think that we are a caring community. We / I don't always get things right.
