Maia + play an unseeded Chinese pair in the SF.

Might be unseeded, but higher ranked than Maia and Isabelle

Should be a good test for Katie to assess where she is, assuming she has sorted out the wrinkles in her serve.

I briefly heard the commentator on the highlights video talk about her serve - was she having a bad day or is Joyce tinkering with it?

I got the impression from her comments they were working on it. She said I just tried to keep believing in what I'd been doing,"

Thanks, now corrected. Comes of trying to do this and watch the by-election result at the same time, late at night.

Amazing start from Katie, break to love, hold to love, 30-0 up drops a point, takes two more for the double break. Katie lost her concentration after a brief delay due to a cameraman, had to save 3 break points but soon recovered. Katie 6-0 with Paolini winning only 3 points on service. Paolini attacking more in the 2nd set a very different set with three breaks to Paolini and two to Katie. Katie 6-0 3-6

QF: Jasmine Paolini (ITA) [1] WR7 defeated Katie Boulter (GBR) WR75 [WC] by 0-6 6-3 6-3

What a pity, there would have been no top 50 players left in the draw had she won.

Topsy turvy match but shows Katie B can cut it with a top 10 player. Is she playing the qualifying for IW? I thought she might pull out of IW if she won this match TBH,

She is down for IW qualies, yes. Women's starts on Sunday but runs over 3 days for 2 rounds of qualifying so may be able to get a Monday start?
