So, a 75% English final:

Final:  (1) Julian Cash & Lloyd Glasspool CR 8 (5+3) vs (3) Harri Heliövaara (FIN) & Henry Patten CR 18 (9+9)

Julian and Lloyd have lost just 17 games in 6 sets so far, for top class doubles, that is emphatic. H and H have lost 29 games, so a lot closer but both pairs have not lost a set so far.

Be interesting to see who can win the final - both pairs seem to be in form, J and L maybe slightly better. Harri in his blog says the courts here are v slow, they have a rougher abrasive coating that is causing the ball to hold up - Harri says he prefers it to the faster courts, it sets his groundies up and he feels his passing shots are working well.

A creditable effort!

And Mensik also beat Sinner today, again in 3 sets. Time for Jan C and Sinner to play each other, it should be evenly matched!

Me also! Nice one H and H!

They move up to equal 8th in the live rankings, leaping over Joe Salisbury who, of course, isnt playing currently.

They also move into 5th in the Race, meaning Neal +, Henry + and Luke + are in the current top 8 at this early stage, with J and L now in 12th.

Always team Cashpool for me but they had a bit of a nightmare today, Lloyd in particular. Ah well.

ETA - I think Cashpool were way too reliant on lobs today. They've obviously identified it as something that works, but they overused it. Julian has a great forehand and Lloyd a great backhand so it would be good to lean on those a bit more I think.

Either way. It seem the British have a dominance on this event!
