Qualifying draw is out, and I wil post it shortly.
Missing from the draw are Millie, Alice, Hannah, Katy, and Ruby. Millie should be in the main draw directly and perhaps Alice. Hannah, Ruby and Katy will have WC's. Other possibilities are Jizel and Emma, but I suspect as alts they haven't signed in.
Qualifying WC's to Grace Piper, Chloe Cleaver, Sophie Bekker, Elizabeth Evans and Megan Davies.

Eliz has a wildcard into main draw for winning British Tour at Loughborough in December.

I'm assuming Hannah has one, and I know Katy does. So hopefully Alice has made the main draw and Ruby and Eliz (sorry Eliz, missed you off my earlier post) have the other two WC's
Theres only 4 wildcards available for main draws I think
Yes, but what paulisi means, I think, is why Esther didn't get one when a couple of the others did
She did OK in Manchester, but disapointing in Birmingham. She is at a CH at the moment, but probably needs some good results before she is rewarded, especially with the competition at the moment from the younger players.

To me it's rather sad to see Ana Konjuh playing at this level. I know that players have to start somewhere when they come back after injury but she seems to have been at a lower level for a few years now.

Wrongly, in my opinion. players who return from US unis are rarely favoured with wildcards-unlike juniors who seem to be given them with regularity. The LTA doesn't seem to realise that the US graduates have been playing three years of good quality, high pressure matches Stateside but they cannot play sufficient ITF events to keep their rankings up.

I'm not a huge fans of Esther's tennis
I'm not advocating for her to have a wildcard
Just explaining paulisi's point
Which is a valid one if you compare her to the others - I mean, Katy did OK in Birminghan but was (perhaps) disappointing in Manchester (you've got a RI and a R2)

I disagree. Over the last 18 months or so the LTA have given much more recognition to graduate college players than before. 10 of last year's 13 ITFs had a WC to a graduate college player. Millie, Vic, Alicia have had them with regularity, including WCs or de-facto WCs in the 2 ITFs this year and Angelica, Indi and Esther have had some. Granted Esther hasn't had a WC from the LTA since this time last year.
Could the LTA do more? Absolutely, especially in the criteria for acceptance to the funding programs. Its scandalous that finishing a college career ranked 2 in the ITA rankings and being a NCAA Individual Singles Semi-finalist for the last 2 years of a college career isn t enough to get accepted on at least the Pro Transition Programme. What more did Millie have to do?
Esther is a curious case. She always played in the bottom half of the line up for Tennessee and I don't think many outside of her close circle Saw the success she has had in singles pros coming. I didn't. The question is how much more upside does she have? Probably not much. You have to remember on the pro side of the game the LTA are mainly interested in supporting those that have the potential to reach grand slams and Esther doesn't fit into that category.
On WCs to juniors, yes, that's LTA policy but if anything in this swing I've been surprised by the lack of WCs to juniors, but perhaps that's because most of their favoured ones are off playing big junior events elsewhere in the world but they usually throw in a curveball with a 14 year old or so.
Perhaps if there is any criticism to be given, it should be to Katy. If she wanted to play main draw she should have entered with her SR instead of depriving someone of a WC.
I suspect there were a lot of very late withdrawals as most of the the players at the top of qualifying are not in qualifying.
I suspect some on the original list for wildcards got promoted into the main draw and the LTA were ringing round offering wildcards.
Maybe Esther turned it down or wanted to play qualis. Who knows?
