Against a player ranked 97. She dug that one out but was outplayed in the first few games. Not very convincing. Hopefully Emma can wrap this up 6-0 in the second set to restore a bit of credibility.

7-5 1-0*

13 games in a row would be quite something. Does require going 0-5 down in the first place.

 Seems Emma was listening.

But not 6-0, so any credibility?

I dont know! Yes I suppose, but she needs a title even if it is won against pretty low level players.. I still have my doubts against the top players though. Rybakina seems to go through Emmas game so effortlessly.  Anyway still a WIP?

I had a stream playing but was busy with other things so mostly just listening out for the scores. The support for Emma was marked; I could tell who'd won the point by the volume of the crowd reaction!

This must be her best chance to claim her first WTA title. She should come through the QF, but Wang, Cristea or Potapova will be dangers

Dont know how the bookies see it but tennis abstract rates her 3rd favourite behind Cirstea to beat Wang in the final.

Maja playing better in the second set, not making as many errors apart from some critical DFs.

The heavily tattoed Ukrainan next, who upset the Chinese seed.
