As mentioned on another thread, Marni, Emily and Vic got in direct.
The 4 wildcards seem to be Millie, Hannah, Ranah and probably Eliz

Tough draws - 3 or 4 to get through Q1

Yes, I said that Vic would have got in direct. But I also reckoned there's also a good chance that so did Millie and Ranah, and the LTA chose to do it that way rather than using their wildcards for them, and they're won't be 4 wildcards (like recently) - if your wildcad gets in direct if you don't use wildcards, then it makes no sense to use wildcards.

The draws are not easy but that's the problem with the LTA's decision not to stage W15s

Just for info, Nauhany (who goes by Nana) is the exceptionally promising young Brazilian girl, age 15, born in 2010, ranked JR 32, who's playing here, instead of going to Australian for the Juniors Open. She's not a 'steady eddy' sort of junior, can miss the boat completely, but also can just dazzle. Anyone who's going along to watch the Brits in qualis shoul

Yeh - I nailed it biggrin

Well, Ranah and Millie smile

They did indeed get in directly and no wildcards needed

Good call by others on Eliz

Ranah v Kuzmova will be interesting.
It should suit Ranah as Kuzmova is very inconsistent in matches and has a big serve a big forehand, but they often go missing in the match.

She was on the singies acceptance list but didn't ultimately appear in the qualifying draw.

Julia Stusek is another top junior who's decided not to schlep over to Australia

Previous winner of Les Petits As (beating our Hannah in the final, although a year older), the two of them are both here in Birmingham (along with Nana), instead of cooking over in Oz.
