As mentioned on another thread, Marni, Emily and Vic got in direct.
The 4 wildcards seem to be Millie, Hannah, Ranah and probably Eliz

Tough draws - 3 or 4 to get through Q1

Yes, I said that Vic would have got in direct. But I also reckoned there's also a good chance that so did Millie and Ranah, and the LTA chose to do it that way rather than using their wildcards for them, and they're won't be 4 wildcards (like recently) - if your wildcad gets in direct if you don't use wildcards, then it makes no sense to use wildcards.

The draws are not easy but that's the problem with the LTA's decision not to stage W15s

Just for info, Nauhany (who goes by Nana) is the exceptionally promising young Brazilian girl, age 15, born in 2010, ranked JR 32, who's playing here, instead of going to Australian for the Juniors Open. She's not a 'steady eddy' sort of junior, can miss the boat completely, but also can just dazzle. Anyone who's going along to watch the Brits in qualis shoul

Just to clarify the feed up wild cards available for Birmingham. There are 2 feed up WCs available. Eliz has them both. 1 for winning the British Tour Masters as mentioned by TA in the entry thread and one for winning the premier in Loughbough after Christmas. Tegan and Millie have the qualifying wild card feed ups available for being runner-up in those events but obviously Millie doesn't need hers and Tegan got in anyway. Contrary to what was posted in the entry thread there are no qualifying wild cards for winning a tier 2 British Tour event - though perhaps there should be or at least a mini race between swings.
Its possible (probable) Eliz may be allowed to use her other earned WC in Sheffield.

C'mon, girls

I've got 20p on every GB outside chance player today (they're nearly all outsiders)

I put them all on, bar two, who I thought had no chance. And then felt badly for the other two. So added them to the list too

So, I've got 9 x 20p

I'm bound to lose overall but this is the perfect sort of draw for a couple of upsets at least, surely

Allegra won in straight sets, but it's a 35k, so needs to qualify for a point.
Next week is much weaker.

Good score for Allegra - 6-2 6-1 - over a player ranked 647

Tegan posted a decent score but lost 6-3 6-4

Indianna was a set and a break up, but as normal cannot get over the finish line.
Into a decider
