I'm not surprised I think he was struggling on serve

Round one hasnt gone as well as I thought it would personally - hoped for a better return that 2 through

I havent seen the draw Arthur and George face from here, but good luck to them.

Just seen draw for first time, George draw is brutal for him in next two rounds; hard to see him qualifying, if he does, that would be impressive. Arthurs looks kinder - not sure how Tomic is playing but feels winnable and then Prizmic maybe in the FQR.

Tomic is generally playing well after some years in the wilderness, and ofc an Aussie at home so may be quite tough.

I had Jan and Ryan to lose

But, admittedly without knowing much/anything about Rodesch, I had Billy to win - I thought he looked on it, these past couple of weeks crycrycry

Yes Billy and JPJ were big first round disappointments for me. Billy's come so close here in previous years and looked in incredible form at United Cup, so really felt this would be his year. Definitely didn't expect a pair of straight sets defeats.

George manages to keep the flag flying, albeit courtesy of Nishioka's retirement:

QR2:  George Loffhagen WR 209 defeated (q8) Yoshihito Nishioka (JPN) WR 116 by 6-3 3-1 retired   biggrin

FQR:  George Loffhagen WR 209 vs Nishesh Basavareddy (USA) WR 239 (CH = 99 last June)

The up & coming Yank beat the Austrian q19, Sebastian Ofner (WR 131), by 13-11 in the third set super tie-break...
