Like round one Id love to support Sonay and feels she and Fran would be a credit if they win this whole thing.
But the mens doubles pairs of Cashpool and Joe/Neal are where I voted in round one and I feel one of them needs my vote more and also deserves. I give a lot of credit to Joe and Neal but Cashpool won Wimbledon and also ended the year ranked as number one.
My only fear is if they and Henry meet in the final, where does my vote go from there!
Katie started the season with just one point from Nottingham - no other counters, so no ranking at all - at 26 years old that must have been dauting - to start again from scratch - a massive task for anyone, and no SR ranking as she had gambled heavily by entering the wildcard play off for Wimbledon in 2024 in a desperate roll of the dice to try and kick start her career.
No-one gave her a leg up - 15k tournaments at the start of the season gradually getting her enough points to get to 35k and better, and gradually getting her ranking back up. What I think was most impressive was that she went to Australia and fully took part in several events in their spring season (our autumn) and beat numerous Aussies to win events - lots of great battles with Aussies on their own turf - particularly with Taylah Preston and the rising Aussie star, Emerson Jones.
Katie making it from no ranking back into the British top 10 and the top 300 represents a great result in what was a very tough season from her - not only the practicality of having no ranking points at the start of the season and having to start from scratch, but how difficult mentally that must have been for her to take - and that for a player who has self confessed struggles mentally with feeling worthless after losses and finding it difficult to cope emotionally with the down moments that the sport brings.
So Katie for me from this poll.
I would also say well done to Sonay, improving her ranking and looking an increasingly good all round player, who is strong mentally as well as physically. I wondered if she had peaked when she got into the top 100 last year, but she has definitely got better and my fault (along with lots of others) may be to consistently underestimate her.
Anyway Katie for me, but a strong field in this semi-final.

Thank you Andy . enjoyed the write ups and analysis! And logic and emotion behind your votes.
Thanks JonH for your kind comments - I did though make a couple of factual errors, on both Katie's age at the start of 2025, and also got confused with the year, when I talked about her attempt at qualifying for Wimbledon in 2024, hence the edits.
It's all very personal though - I don't mind other people seeing the world differently - adds to the spice of life.

Great sales pitch. You swayed me. I was debating between the 2 doubles teams then I read your post and thought, yep he's right.
Katie did have a SR. Her entries to the first 6 tournaments played on coming back were 4 SRs and 2 WCs so she wasn't starting entirely from scratch having to hope she gets in to events like many with no ranking.
Ugh, again with the hard choices. Tempted by Sonay for continuing her upward trajectory and Julian/Lloyd for smashing it this year in an incredibly competitive environment, but I went for Katie in the end. I loved Andy Parker's write up and I love a comeback story and I love the grit and determination and hard work Katie's shown this year.
