In todays semi, Greg plays Ahmet Kaplan, the Turkish top seed. However, Greg beat him last time they played, in January in Melbourne, and could make it very interesting.
In the Korean Open, a 500 level event, Gordon Reid is in the singles semis, where he plays Japanenese Miki. Gordon holds a 23-1 career head to head record.
In Munich, in the 500 level Allianz Para event, Andy Lapthorne is in the quad semis, where he plays Sam Shroder, who he has a 20-5 head to head losing record against

The 1000 series Japan Open starts on Tuesday. Per the LTA
British players will contest each of the main draw singles and doubles events at the Japan Open 2026, with Alfie Hewett, Gordon Reid, Andrew Penney, Ben Bartram all contesting the mens events, Cornelia Oosthuizen challenging for honours in the womens events and Greg Slade contesting the quad draws.
British No.2 Reid is still currently the only previous British winner of the mens singles title in Iizuka after back-to-back victories in 2017 and 2018, while Hewett was runner-up in the mens singles and doubles (with Reid) in 2024.
British No.3 Bartram and British No.4 Penney return to Iizuka for the second successive year, having both attained career-best mens singles rankings in the last month Bartram peaking at No.15 and Penney breaking into the top 20 for the first time in his career.

Mens singles - Gordon won comfortably to progress to the last 8 and a match with Gustavo Fernandez. In a big shock, Martin de la Puente, seeded 3, lost his last 16 match against a Chinese opponent, Ji. The ITF site isnt working for me currently in terms of rankings, so cant see much about his background or ranking.
quad singles - Greg lost to Vink, getting one game.
leaves just Alfie and Gordon in and the doubles, of course.
In the mens doubles in Japan, Alfie and Gordon progress to the semis; Ben Bartram also does after he and his partner, Rodrigues, overcame fellow Brit Andy Penney and his partner.
In the quad doubles, Greg Slade also progressed to the semis.
