In todays semi, Greg plays Ahmet Kaplan, the Turkish top seed. However, Greg beat him last time they played, in January in Melbourne, and could make it very interesting.

Gordon lost his final in Korea in 3 sets, Andy lost his Munich semi in straight sets.

Onto the big 1000 level Japan Open next, not sure if Andy will go back over to Asia, but should be several Brits involved plus Oda will most likely reappear

The 1000 series Japan Open starts on Tuesday. Per the LTA

British No.2 Reid is still currently the only previous British winner of the mens singles title in Iizuka after back-to-back victories in 2017 and 2018, while Hewett was runner-up in the mens singles and doubles (with Reid) in 2024.

British No.3 Bartram and British No.4 Penney return to Iizuka for the second successive year, having both attained career-best mens singles rankings in the last month Bartram peaking at No.15 and Penney breaking into the top 20 for the first time in his career.

Mens singles - Gordon won comfortably to progress  to the last 8 and a match with Gustavo Fernandez. In a big shock, Martin de la Puente, seeded 3, lost his last 16 match against a Chinese opponent, Ji. The ITF site isnt working for me currently in terms of rankings, so cant see much about his background or ranking.

quad singles - Greg lost to Vink, getting one game.

leaves just Alfie and Gordon in and the doubles, of course.

In the quad doubles, Greg Slade also progressed to the semis.

Left in now:

MD- Alfie/Gordon, Ben+
QD - Greg+
