On one level it doesnt matter, at all. But I think given that Telstar had set them up, there was no harm keeping them up for the reasons Lambda suggests. Given the lack of tennis taking place, Id certainly follow them the next few days and having a dedicated thread seems a good idea for mens and womens. But I certainly wouldnt get too excited either way!
But it does raise the question - say Jack D had played last week at the Copper Box in the UTS Showdown, where would we put that? To me , Id go in the mens, but its an exho, would that make a difference?
Well, as I tried to explain, there is to my mind no particular intent in the first place to keep the men's and women's sections for international pro tour events so I'd say that such an event would just be judged at the time ( there is no rule to make a difference ) and I wouldn't have thought ( certainly before today ) that it was a biggie.
Didn't personally interest me, Jack playing or not. Personally, I would have more expected it to be in the men's section, but hey ho if someone put it in the general section.
For surely still for such an event it is still indeed no biggie either way?
Not a biggie at all - just musing! for next year, haha.
Today, they appear to have 2 rounds of the mens and 1 of the womens, reversed tomorrow.
Men kick off at 10 am, with the schedule as below - I guess they have 4 courts in action, with 3 matches scheduled on each?

I see the title of this thread has been changed to British Tour Masters, presumably to deal with the debate yesterday. But, not sure that is quite right, it is still the British Tour 2025 thread as it covers the whole year; the Masters is just the last few posts or so?
Probably being a pain but it makes more sense to call it British Tour 2025 as it was; it is a bit like the Wheelchair Tour 2025 thread - that covers the whole year and includes individual tournaments as they come up.
Not being pedantic, hope it doesnt come that way, but do think the new title misleads! eg The TS Open Tour Finals starts straight after this event and would be commented on in the British Tour thread (as it comes under the British Tour banner) and in a week or so Loughborough has an event before the year end - they arent the tour masters but anyone wishing to comment on them would comment here)
(we could have a completely different British Tour Masters thread just about the Masters of course...IGMC!)

I agree. It is a year long story thread.
Any objections to it being changed back to British Tour 2025? I guess we could add "including Masters finals" though I think.that unnecessary. Personally, I think it is and always was fine as the one thread concluding with the Masters but I respect other opinions.
Little did I think that my original two posts would create such debate! For what it's worth, I think it would be best for the single thread to be entitled 'British Tour 2025 including Masters'!
It's a shame that certain individuals with power have decided they don't want a thread about the British Tour Masters on "their" board and merged the threads with the general thread. I don't see why the men's and women's boards should be exclusively for the pro tour. It would be nice to have brought out those that have made the achievement to reach the Masters and give them the recognition, especially in a quiet week when there is little else happening on the men's and women's boards. After all the men's board is for "discussion of British male players" and the womens board for "discussion of British women players". Nothing in those descriptions that suggest they are exclusively for discussion of pro events. Rant over.
Sorry, mea culpa, my mistake. Been busy for one reason or another for the better part of today, hence this delayed response.
I was aware of CD's British Tour 2025 thread in this forum & when I saw the addict's post on telstar's newly started Masters thread in the Men's, pointing out its existence (now deleted), I thought I'd do a bit of tidying-up, as Indy has suggested, & move it over to keep the discussion all together. I had no idea that there was a parallel thread in the Women's forum & it didn't cross my mind to check.
Regrettably, moreover, I messed up the merging process & inadvertently caused the original subject of CD's thread to be replaced by that of telstar's, but could see no way of changing it back (if I go into page 1 of CD's thread, it still shows his original title!). It was most definitely never my intention by doing the tidying-up to give the impression that the Men's forum was exclusively for the discussion of pro events & that discussion of the British Tour was thus banished.

Thanks telstar, pity about the debate and questioning of motives..
I was going to leave it a bit but coming from yourself, I will go along with that change as you word it and it is now done.

The "including Masters" addition doesn't seem to have worked, so I've had another go!

I changed the title using telstar's post on page 8 which is where the merger started.
I think in future if you merge the side thread into the main thread instead of the other way around it will maintain the main title.

No you didn't!
As above, you have to go to telstar's post on page 8. I tried the same thing as you and it didn't work.
I changed it back to it's original title, but feel free to change it again.
