The Orange Bowl is the final J500 event of the year.  Allegra Korpanec Davies and Hollie Smart should be in the main draw, out tonight.  Ophelia Korpanec Davies and Athina Schlepphorst lost in qualifying.

There is also an under 16 event, and Clarice Ouvarova is seeded in that.  Most of the entry is American, but the top seed is a 14 year old Ukrainian ranked inside the junior top 100

Both Allegra and Hollie have potentially tricky openers - Allegra's opponent was a finalist in her last J300 event.

Carrie-Anne did well to make that J300 final, although her opponents were not the best and she hasn't done anything at all in adults

If Hollie gets past Janae, she has a very good chance against Jauffret (whom I don't really rate - and was one of those who Carrie-Anne beat) and the Canadian seed, Lagaev, who has a truly irritating sort of game.
But Janae made two SFs in her first two adult events recently, and has been playing well in the last few months.

She's on court and, unfortunately, and rather as feared above, getting beaten up by Janae

And not a great match from Hollie, although Janae was always going to be a bigger challenge than many of the girls in Hollie's later rounds (if she got there) - she lost 1-6 4-6

Allegra and Hollie are both in doubles opening round action tonight - Allegra is seeded 6th in that.

They finally have managed to complete round 1 today, so Allegra knows her round 2 opponent

In the girls doubles, Hollie + managed a win 10-8 MTB, but 6th seeded Allegra + lost their opening doubles 7-6 6-0.

Singles today, presumably, for Allegra?

Allegra progresses, but will have her work cut out next round against the top seed who was a finalist in the last J500 (Mexico)

Allegra has just lost in the singles

But it was a decent match (although Barros always gives quite a lot of points, you rarely see her smash the score)

6-4 6-4

And Allegra had to have some sort of MTO in the second set
