Week 50 - WTA125 - Limoges, France Hard

Actually I've decided that it is an awful decision for Sonay to play here and potentially make such a move up the rankings

I've got her as WR 70 in the predictions contest.

I wouldn't stress over it, the average prediction was WR83 and GB7, so most people got it wrong !

Wasn't expecting Sonay to play again this year but she's always marched to the beat of her own drum. Did we ever find out whether she was injured in Asia or just needed a break?

She hadn't played since October, so a much longer off season than the majority of players will have.

Talking of long breaks, she next plays Kalinina, a former Top 30 player who hasn't played since June through injury. A potential tough one.

Sonay is 2nd on Centre after a 9am start so probably around 10.30. Mimi plays on Tuesday.

Looking at the TNNS App, some R1 matches including Mimi's are showing as not scheduled until Wednesday. Sonay's R2 match is also showing for Wednesday.

Apparently just the one court with the 16 R1 singles plus 4.QF doubles matches being played from Monday through to Wednesday plus the first 2 of the R2 singles matches. So you get a good full day of 7 or 8 matches of tennis if you arrive early and stay the course

All spread out over three days, including the doubles QF.  Seven matches a day on the one court.

Plenty of time for pottering about between matches

Mimi is first on Centre court at 9am.
It looks as if Sonay is 6th on Centre.

Just a step too far for Mimi this morning. Goes down 6-3, 6-3. Not unexpected as she has had little experience at this level and just helps to illustrate the difference in class as you move up from ITF to WTA level.

She played Birmingham and won against Alicia Parks  the top  seed  on grass,  might be a significant difference.

Alicia was pretty dismal during the grass swing. Dont think you can really compare TBH.
