Naomi is at her best with the big serve + big fh into the space combination. Once it develops into a rally some of her groundstrokes are short, lacking pace and get treated with contempt by Kucova.

Kucova is a decent player. She hits the ball very flat. Much better backhand than Naomi.

To be honest she was lucky to win that second set. Kucova was holding her serve easily throughout and was much the better player during the long rallies. Naomi's serve + big forehand combination is possibly top 100 standard right now, the rest of her game is probably not top 100 juniors. To her credit she did move forward, coming to the net to put away straightforward volleys, though her drive volleys were less impressive. Her defensive play needs a lot of work, being easily wrong-footed, lobs barely getting over the net, defensive shots not deep enough. The return of serve in the second set was disappointing too.
Kucova is only just 16 and hasn't yet to get a ranking on the women's tour.
Radwanska is leading Cavaday 5-3 with a single break in the first set.
Radwanska looks to be a real good player, I can't see a weakness in her game and she has done her homework on Cavaday whose mocement is a real weakness. However, the Briton is still a dangerous opponent if she gets a chance to swing at the ball and she has fought back from 5-1 down.
Tough luck for Cavaday, she had a break point in the game and was well in the point but a dead net cord got the Pole out of trouble. Radwanska is a very fine prospect but she looked to be losing the plot there. Naomi will need to come out firing to exert more pressure.
I love the way Cavaday is fighting in this match often hitting her feircest shot strait at the Pole, jamming up her swing. Radwanska has served a few aces but when Cavaday gets her racket on the ball she is able to do damage.
Radwanska hit 26 winners and just 13 errors and that pretty much tells the story. The Pole hardly ever hits and error and given the slightest she hits a winner, defiitely a potential star of the future. Cavaday was always competitive but her movement and control of the ball were inferior.
