There are 4 junior wcs.

I would give them to: Graeme Dyce, Daniel Evans, Daniel Cox and Ed Corrie/Iain Atkinson [very tough decision between these two].

Graeme was ranked just outside the top 100 junior but he's been struggling lately with an ankle injury and that's why he didn't enter RG junior qualies. Dyce felt that the injury meant that he lost a bit of sharpness in his game and that was the reason for unexpected defeats in clay junior events in May. He's spent the intervening time training on grass.

I expect he'll make his return to action in the prestigious grade 1 junior event in Roehampton during the 1st week of Wimbledon. I wonder whether any of the juniors listed will enter the wc playoff at Raynes Park ?

Dyce is a must. Two of the three others should go to Cox and Evans. Utterly confused over the fourth one though.

Its a shame that we don't have a single junior with a ranking high enough to make the cut on merit. Let's hope that the two Dan's change that next year....

Why would you not choose David Rice?
I thought he was supposed to be a very good player.

He's a good player, only 16 and he's the British no 2 in juniors. However...I don't think he's currently as good as either Cox or Evans. He hasn't competed on the senior circuit as much as those two and when he has played futures qualies he hasn't done aswell as Cox or Evans. Also, Cox has beaten Rice twice 6-0, 6-1 and Evans beat Rice 1-6, 6-3, 6-3 in April. In terms of Britain's best 16 year olds, Cox and Evans are neck and neck and Rice and Thornley are a little way behind them.

Graeme Dyce has to be given a chance as the British junior no 1 and he's rated extremely highly by Nick Bolliterri.

Ed Corrie and Iain Atkinson are both at a higher level than David Rice, they're top U18 players and have both had success in main draw futures events. They're both bigger hitters than him at the moment. Also, Corrie already has the experience of playing Wimbledon juniors last year.

Cox got an ATP point when he was 15 years and 3 months old.

Given some time and if he trains properly, we will have a really good player in him.

Yes, I forgot that he's still only 15. He isn't 16 until August !!

When he reaches his full height and fills out his frame he will be some player as he's having this much success now,

28th September actually.

Amazing start he has had. Nadal had to wait for a few more months to get his first point.

But I dont think Cox comes anywhere near what Nadal must have been physically at his age. He will need some time I believe.

Yes, Daniel's only 52 kg at the moment. It just shows how naturally talented he is that he's having this success already despite being at such a physical disadvantage.

By the way, when will the junior wcs be announced ?
