Dear Jon Boy, 'watching quietly from the side' is not in your DNA
I came here to nominate Edie (she only won the events today, it's hardly late) but I'm glad you've done it
Haha. Dont worry I wasnt worried no one else had nominated Edie, just concerned at the fact I feel Ive been doing more than my share (which is my fault!) and its not healthy for the good of the process.
And yes. I fear youll be right! But I will try, really hard, to stay quietly at the side!

Ha, thanks CD anyway for keeping us abreast of the tournament progression and all your and David's other junior updates throughout the year. Much appreciated
Looks like Mika and Mimi are both over and out for the season now. Mimi pulled out of next couple of weeks events and Mika went out in both her semis today. Alicia also, bows out with the doubles title today.

Wrong as always! Lets see how Mimi goes in Limoges!
1. Edie Griffiths (age 16) - seeded 5th in singles, came through to take the J100 singles and doubles titles at Loughborough in week 48, her first titles in both disciplines at J100 level
2. Mika Stojsavljevic (age 16) - came through qualies, ran all the way to the semis of the W100 in Dubai, beating Kraus (ranked 109) as well as WR168 Iatcenko before losing a tight 3 set semi with Zvonareva. Also reached the doubles semis. This was her first W100 semi and a great week for her
3.
etc.
I said Id sit quietly and CD correctly called me out on that! But I was surprised no one else nominated Mika yet. its a quiet month and Ill be surprised if she doesnt end up in the running for the PoM title this month.
Apologies if someone was preparing to nominate her but there was no obvious evidence of that. But if you were, please feel free edit and improve my write up.
Flippin' heck Jon, I am absolutely sure Mika was going to ne nominated by someone(s). Me if no-one else with Monday's rankings but I am sure that someone else would anyway. Folk don't necessarily jump at every nudge and hint or make an early declaration of intent.
Zero.patience ( what was the hurry re either Edie or Mika?? ) or ability to keep quiet when you said you would ( slightly forced )
In essence I really like PoM and PoS, but can we maybe have more room to breath without being nudged, lectured etc etc? I'd personally enjoy that more.

That is incredibly harsh Indy. And I am sorry you feel like that.

Indy of course is right and I apologise to all if I am too intense and impatient sometimes. I will try and be less intense and pushy and so let it play out Organically a little more.
Apologies to all.

Just Ruby Cooling and Melissa Boyden in action today in Türkiye in their W15 doubles semi finals (looks like the final is due today as well) Will they catch anybodys eye in a quiet month so far?

Ive been away from the board for some time now and just returned, having been following Mikas brilliance in Dubai.
I am so sad to see some friction going on. We can never really know how our words will affect others or what else is going on in their lives.
Thankyou you all for being here and especially Jon and Indy who are both absolute treasures as contributors.
To quote H H Dalai Lama
Be kind whenever possible. Its always possible
Thank you Julia and good to see you back. Your words are kind, and I agree with all the sentiment. Indy and myself get on well, honestly, and we are having a little chat behind the scenes. He was right, but in all honesty it is probably fair to say it was a storm in a tea cup.
After a good nights sleep, a little virtual handshake and hug, we are all good and normal service is resumed. With maybe just a little more patience and space given by me. And that isnt a bad thing!
thanks Julia - and make sure youre around for the forthcoming player of the season votes, just three or four weeks away!
I am sorry to anyone who was perturbed by my honest public expressions in response to various other recent public posts and my previous hints.
I know Jon for one ( for we are still talking ) would have preferred I had PM'd him rather than make that latest post and I am particularly sorry to have upset him here, in this PoM / PoS section into which he puts so much time and effort, and I am so pleased that he reaffirmed to me again last night that he wiill be continuing with it all into 2026 and hopefully beyond.
Here's to a great end to 2025 with a hopefully not too quiet December PoM ( though clearly there are very few pros at least in action ), before we up the ante as the WCs are voted for from an increasingly lengthy and divergent list, before the big PoS vote climax.
I always find this period the most exciting of the season, particularly when the tennis itself is thin, and the wildcard process feels like a celebration of so many great achievements. With 22 already in PoS and 18 wildcards, plus anyone being nominated in December, we have over 40 players (and rising) eventually in contention for Player of the Season. And that isnt a bad place to be!
If nothing else, and only one player (s) can win it, it shows the current health of our game!

With respect to Edie or Mika, please anyone feel free to add or amend the narrative - particularly as rankings come out tomorrow which may enable a nice little upgrade to what is currently written.
