I voted for Henry and, to be honest, I am bewildered as to why everybody else hasn't also done so. This month he became one of the pair who won the world Masters doubles championship. I get that singles is more popular but how can two singles players scrambling to get into the top 300 possibly be even considered to have achieved as much!

I know! And I tore myself apart on it before doing the opposite! Haha.
Henry, Of course, is in player of the season and that tends to have a different resonance in terms of how people vote, looking at the history - Id say Henry is in with a shout of a decent showing there, for sure! So keep the faith!
I voted for Swan. The Brisbane W50 win was an absolutely amazing achievement, Katie beating 3 Aussie's in their own backyard (all who were in the hunt for AO wildcards) just to make the final. Then overcoming a very good Chinese player (who had also beaten a top Aussie in her semifinal) in a humdinger of a match. Swan beat top Aussie Emerson Jones in the semi, who is likely to get an AO Main draw wildcard (Jones has just won the Playford W75 this last week!). She also beat Destanee Aiala who will likely now get an AO qualifying wildcard, and Lizette Cabrera who may now not be granted an AO qualifying wildcard. [In recent previous tournaments, Swan had also beaten Taylah Preston (twice) who's also likely to get an AO Main draw wildcard, but those matches weren't in November]. By winning the Brisbane W50, Swan showed just what a fabulous competitor she is, it may well have been the best tournament win of her career. It took her to WTA ranking to #276 (remember she was unranked 9 months ago), and was the 4th tournament victory of this comeback year, what a story it has been.

Thats a bigger write up than the narrative for her entry! Nice one and powerful. Maybe you and Bagel should have a chat!
I like these types of arguments being made! And I am glad Ive voted as I might be swayed!
It shows that the vote around player of the month is so much more than the result a player achieved and stacking one against another. Its the emotional attachment as well, and voting for a player because they made you feel something.
And not just player of the month but even more so in a few weeks with player of the season.
And thats why i encourage people to write something and not just tick a button and press submit. Thats easy - writing why you voted is more fulfilling and engaging and what this board stands for.
Thank you Foobarbaz and thank you Bagel. And the other who have contributed.
thats what I wanted when I set up player of the month and why it makes me stick with it when I get fed up. And what makes me come back to this board and keep on doing it, month after month.

Reading the above from Jon means I must comment.......I voted for Avon Ladies Winter County Cup. As mentioned in nomination, definitely a win for the underdogs in the county system, and a fantastic team effort!

I would have liked to have known the names of the squad. Whilst a good result, I can't really relate to it.
I've voted for Liam Broady. An amazing achievement to pick himself up and carry on and still strive for greater things, A big talent and the ability to fight to beat the odds and prolong his career.
