Week 47 - ATP Challenger 50 - Soma Bay, Egypt (hard)

Thanks alex03maccy. Certainly 6-0 in the last reads like that. If it was major, he would have retired

Well done Toby! An impressive comeback as I watched bits of the first set and Jay looked very composed and in full control.

From the bits I've seen, I think conditions have been challenging this week, perhaps quite windy? Charlie definitely lost the plot in his semifinal yesterday, reduced to swinging wildly and spraying the ball all over the place.

But Toby was very impressively composed. And a huge ranking surge to a new career high of 323.

We've now got around 6 players on the edge of the top 300 who aren't a million miles away from slam qualies

For the avoidance of doubt, if the above does not come to pass it still does not mean the projection is wrong

Nor that a child has been born.....wink

Well done on a great week Toby, and also a very encouraging one for Charlie.

He was outside the top 1000 earlier this year, now into the top 350. Was he injured before?

He was rising in 22 and 23, reached edge of the top 500, just inside. 2024 was a write off, cant recall if i was all injury or college as well, but he only played 3 tour level matches and fell away down to around 1800.

2025 he has come back with a vengeance!!
