Boys & Girls J60 Liverpool-hard-indoor-week-46

Much stronger line up, not suprisingly, than last week.

I did catch a bit of qualifying this morning. Main draw starts on Monday.

I understand that Oneeka-BowGreatorex failed to turn up for the second week running.

Jesse Clarkson is the highest seeded GB boy at 4.
Wildcards- Boyan Ilchev, Ryan Szeto, Jan Janda (assume one of the wildcards allocated, got in direct)
Annabel Wong is the high seeded GB girl at 7
Wildcards- Norway x 2, Leah Bush, Dasha Jones,

Charlie Ruffell beat the top seed in R1 - so that's a good start

Most of the other matches went pretty much according to ranking

Three retirals though, which is a shame (Brandon R, Isaac F and Max W)

The top seed was carrying an injury and has withdrawn from the doubles.

The Bolton girls have had a good day.
Grace Watson's match was the standout on the girls side, but the top seed prevailed in the end.

Does Dasha Jones have a family connection to a Wimbledon champion?

Interesting to watch some of the young talented girls.
The one that really stood out was Millica, who was very attacking.
April did enough, without being at her very best. Grace was very good for a couple of sets, but struggled to contain her emotions and didnt have the power to defeat the top seed.
I'd like to see Judy Zhang again as it was a very comfortable match.
Dasha Jones looks decent, but came up against Elizabeth Prangley, who was too powerful in the end.

On the boys side, i can see why Jan Janda gets wildcards, but he does play the big points well.
It's hard for the youngsters as Boyan Ilyev found out.
Niall did enought to get through, but it wasn't straight forward.
Quite impressed with Aran

Aran has been very impressive the times I've seen him smile (although I did see one livestream that was a bit more all over the place)

I've never seen Jan but am looking forward to doing so

Millica is pretty tiny, isn't she?

She is quite slight, but is powerful and hits a lot of winners

Delgado & Lee have brought their good overseas players here and stand a good chance of winning both titles.
They have the Hungarian no.2 seed, who has just won easily and the Ukrainian top seed in the girls.
Mitchell, looks a nice player. Lefty, who likes to move forward
Arun is a set up.
The battle of the lefties, is a very tight affair and young Szeto is holdong his own.

Is that Jamie Delgado and Martin Lee?

I thought  Jamie was now with Jack Draper? What are the squads these guys are involved in?

Well done to April for throwing her marker down against Millica

The 13 year-old is doing well :)

I'm not down for the rest of the week and out for the rest of the evening.
April was too solid for Millica. Judy Zhang won a very long match against Lilly(according to Dad)Prangley in a match with lots of power and long rallies.
The top two girls seeds look strong, the rest are quite even.
