I am sticking with Emily. She was playing 18 years ago when I first started commenting and copying results across I can remember some of her challenges. She often had to fund herself, not easy as a middle ranked player, and sometimes she stopped competing in order to boost her funds. She played tournaments in India and coached the hotel owner to get free accommodation. She fell ill in Australia, without health insurance and the airline refused to let her go on the flight home, so she was trapped there until she recovered. To see her now achieving a career high at the age of 41 due to shear persistence and love of the game is very inspiring to anyone struggling with their career. This may well be her last chance to win this award.

Wholeheartedly agree with you Peter Too. Emily gets my vote for her longevity and achievement. Mika is just starting out and Im sure will go on to do great things. Will we also be voting for Mika in 25 years time?
