I am really pleased for Ryan, for his continued work coming back and now winning a title
I was very impressed with Brooke Black in Australia
And with Jans rise up the rankings
Harrys win from Lucky Loser was astonishing
Wrexhams field was unfortunately that of a W50 and well done to Mimi in winning it
Cams form was OK and got lucky against Carlitos in my view
But the 3 who made the most impact on me this month were:
Harriet whose form seemed to come back from out of nowhere, as she won the best title of her career
Emily who reached a WTA Final that nobody would have thought possible (a win would have surely made her cast iron certainty)
and my vote which goes to Mika Stojsavljevic who had such a sustained level throughout the month but who, now I have been able to watch her play in BBC high resolution for the first time, has really made impact on me with her level of play at such a young age, and who with the necessary luck everyone needs has the ability to go very high indeed
Good analysis!! Although you ended up at a different place to me, I get your thought process!
Irrespective of the vote I have to take issue with Cams win over world number 1 Carlos being dismissed as got lucky . Carlos has a 67-8 win - loss record this year. To the best of my knowledge he wasnt injured when he played Cam . True, he didnt play well and made a lot of errors but Cam should be given credit for executing his game plan and frustrating Carlos. Definitely his biggest career win to date !

Fair enough Dannythomas. I accept your choice using whatever consideration and method you use. As you are taking issue with my assessment I feel I should respond. I am a big fan of Cam and championed him back in the summer (can't remember which month) when he played two tournaments with stand-out tennis after being in the doldrums for a long time, and in my opinion should have won POM. So as a fan, if Cam is reproducing stand-out tennis then trust me, I would champion him. Was stand-out tennis needed to beat CA this time? In my opinon .. Nope. Do I feel Cam's month was as great as that one earlier in the year .. Nope. So I honestly couldn't shortlist him. Hope that at least gives you a fuller understanding behind my thinking

Out of the many worthy performances this month I whittled my vote down to a choice between Mimi and Mika. They have both done so well and have huge potential. In the end I chose Mika simply because she has a better chance of closing the gap and winning. I know Emily has a lot of fans on here and people are justifiably happy for her, but I feel I want to vote for someone who represents the future of British tennis rather than the past.
