Yes it wasn't pretty, one of the Chinese girls got very very tight at the end of the MTB which helped but it was a real nervy scrap. Em and Kat were 7-9* down and saved another match point at 11-12*

Extraordinary win by Emily + against two players with WTA doubles titles on the 2025 Asian swing.

Other interesting stats:

1) It's Emily's first WTA doubles event since 2022
2) Prior to this week she had only won eight doubles matches on the WTA tour
3) It's her second career WTA semifinal after 2022 Rabat

Good stats and well done Emily and partner - I don't follow Emily (feel I should) at all, so can't call myself a fan over any other player, but I know a lot around here do really support her!!

It's astonishing to think that Emily's standout performance came 21 years ago, when she narrowly missed out on reaching the singles third round at Wimbledon.
