Mimi was a break up at least once and maybe twice in the 2nd set but couldn't hold it. Her opponent's play became more aggressive in the third along with all her squealing and shouting.
Pity re Mimi, she could have done with SF points to further enhance her Aus Open Q chances. But of course she has done so well lately, particularly last week!
Takes her up to live ranked 257 on 273 points.
Hopefully of interest, I have started a thread, listing the main Aus Open Q runners and riders.
Oh well, Mimi bows out after an extremely successful few weeks. She has played a lot of matches with the doubles and maybe just ran out of steam. That said her opponent was a pretty hardened competitor, consistently ranking in the top 200 and maybe a step to far this time. Whatever Mimi had a good win against Clervie, who I am sure she will play again in the near future. Will be really interesting to see where everyone lands for the Oz Open. Will be following that thread Indy.
