They were next to each other in the draw - I've done the same before.

Swan's match is able to be viewed on the ITF live tournament website with the Replay functionality, Is that a new thing this year I wonder?

It seemed Katie was finding the tennis hard going today, the first set was a struggle, and the medic was called once the set had concluded. It was difficult to tell, because the camera on the show court is so far back, but it didn't appear that there was treatment for a physical injury, per se. Conditions were hot in Brisbane, and as others have pointed out Swan is only just recovered from illness. Perhaps, it was more fatigue / sickness. Anyhow, a big effort brought rewards in the second set, and then both skill and determination eventually gave Swan the victory. Well done to her. Hopefully, there will be more energy in the locker for Rd 2's match. Katie didn't enter the doubles competition this tournament, so maybe that's a indication as to how she felt pre-tournament.

Yes, in general it's good to see the results this morning

Katie making short work of it. Naiktha coming up against a 21 year old who was previously 203

Depending on the weather, I'm confident about Katie's QF but Brooke has Taylah Preston so it might not be much more than good experience for her
