Week 43 - ITF W100 Wrexham, Great Britain - Hard (Indoor)

Serban upped her levels and Ranah is making errors now.
One set shootout.

That was some match - 2h 30 mins and Ranah lost by the narrowest of margins.
The levels from both players were exceptional.

Not seen Ranah for a few years, but if she plays like that, she will be a top 250 player in no time.

Not seen Marni live since she played in that infamous J30 tournament at Liverpool, which Emma won aged 13.

She has taken the first set and she hits the ball really hard and flat, but that set was a bit up and down. She looked like she was going to run away with it at the start

Unfortunately that has been the story for the last three or four years now

She always plays like that and she never gets to be top-250

I still have her in my top-10 most years as she has SO much talent

But I've heard that she has a lot of problems with finding the right coach, the bigwigs at the NTC don't really rate her ..... it's such a shame

Mimi is coached by Katie O'Brien and Nigel Sears.

Thanks - neither were in the coaches corner for the doubles and there were two coaches.

I've heard that there's been a bit of a hoo-hah, with Mimi wanting to bring in new physical training coaches, based more near her home, and the NTC bods not being too happy about it

So those people today might have been the new guys?

Indeed - I know there are some who bat for her, thankfully - but at least one person, in particular, who has a real downer on her

Needless to say, I don't like the downer person who shall remain nameless (although not really)

let's hope that the situation of people not supporting her, or worse, abates
