Mimi is getting so many balls back in play, it is forcing Mika to take more risks and make more mistakes than normal

Was out all day so catching up.
Mimi always looked like winning, but as soon as Lily moved up the court and played aggresive tennis, she was competitive.
Lily was never going to be able to match Mimi from the back of the court, she had too power.
Mika is a class above everyone this week.

Mika will win the singles in straight sets.
Mimi and Ella will win the doubles.

You just knew that the tennis gods would laugh at you, when you were so sure, that's tennis biggrin

Mimi played a smart match - she put pressure on the second serve, which in turn meant Mika was more under pressure on the first, she kept the ball deep, and moved it around, Mika was having to go for a bit more

Excellent week for both girls

The best i've seen Mimi play. Serve was super impressive, she returned so well and chased everything down.

Well done Mimi. Knew you would do it. Brought it home for Wales. Played as good as the first set against Sonay in Shrewsbury last year. Back on track now. Mika was a good performance. So much promise. Needs a bit more variety now which she will surely build on. Arent we lucky to have such great prospects?not forgetting Hannah. Who is most probably the best by far on clay.

She won the doubles as well, so a very profitable week for Mimi

Very well done Mimi - a superb title.

Really infuriates me that this precociously talented young woman has to suffer her debut title at this level being in the Western Hemispheres most appalling city. Just what are the LTA playing at?

You cannot blame the players - at least I do not - as if the ranking points are on offer they are perfectly entitled to enter the tournament in Wrecscum, Pyongyang, Moscow or wherever. But you certainly can blame the LTA for this great injustice they have served upon Mimi, the entire field and any spectators travelling from outside the Rectum area.

Well done to Mimi and also well done to Ella. I like this pair. Ella did mention that they really liked playing together in juniors but until Mimi reached seniors they had little opportunity to to grow this partnership. They have a really good chance to do well in Glasgow and long may this partnership continue. In another few years could be critical to our BJK prospects.

Backing that up in the under 21s live doubles ranking, Ella is 8 and Mimi is 15.

Mimi is now at 269 in the live rankings on 257 points. She needs to add around 70 more points by the time of the Australian Open to get into the qualifying event. After Glasgow she's on the list for the W50 in Brisbane.
