Mimi is up 85 places in the live rankings to 296. If she wins the final she would move up to around 268 depending on how others do.

Yes, she's doing quite well too, and will be GB #9  biggrin

And watching the clearly older, but still for various reasons so much unfulfilled possibilites, Katie Swan performing down under.

Good times!

I'd still be well satisfied with 4 Brits in total in Aus Open Q    To clarify that further, I accept paulisi staying there are a lot of possibilities, I just think it remains too much for most below Jodie and Harriet to make up the ground in such a short time with where they are still coming from. But would love there to be more. Still so much time stretching after that though for such as Mika and Mimi ...

I'm pretty sure Mimi has her eye on qualies, she's in the top 300 courtesy of this week, she's entered into Glasgow then a W35 which I would expect her to withdraw from because currently she is heading to Australia the following week for the W50 in Brisbane. There are 2 further W75 in November and I can't imagine she's heading to Oz for 1 tournament so that is potentially quite a few opportunities to get to WR230 over the next month.  The competition will be quite a bit stronger in Australia so it's not going to be easy but this week has definitely made it game on.

On balance I'd like her to win tomorrow.

Was out all day so catching up.
Mimi always looked like winning, but as soon as Lily moved up the court and played aggresive tennis, she was competitive.
Lily was never going to be able to match Mimi from the back of the court, she had too power.
Mika is a class above everyone this week.

Mika will win the singles in straight sets.
Mimi and Ella will win the doubles.

Theres a lot of talk about whether some of our younger players could make MD Qualifying for the Oz Open. Could be that there will be a lot of higher ranked players going for those final spots, but when is the cut off for the Oz qualifying draw? Is it in December? TIA.

I notice that there is no provisional time on the womens doubles final. I wonder if Mimi and Ella might default if Mimi has a long match against Mika, especially as they are currently the number two pair in Glasgow and currently there are only five doubles pairs in the draw.

There is no time as Mimi will be given adequate rest after the singles.
The money is too good to withdraw and Mimi and Ella should be favourites

Mika is 1/2 favourite
Ella & Mimi 1/3 favourite

Yes, good money. $5,573 to the winning pair and $2,787 to the runners-up.

Looking forward to this final! Does the TV coverage tend to start early or at the scheduled match start time or...?

Ah, I saw the match was scheduled for 1pm and was wondering why it wasn't showing. Then I realised they've not taken the time change into account!
