Mimi is up 85 places in the live rankings to 296. If she wins the final she would move up to around 268 depending on how others do.
Yes, she's doing quite well too, and will be GB #9
And watching the clearly older, but still for various reasons so much unfulfilled possibilites, Katie Swan performing down under.
Good times!
I'd still be well satisfied with 4 Brits in total in Aus Open Q To clarify that further, I accept paulisi staying there are a lot of possibilities, I just think it remains too much for most below Jodie and Harriet to make up the ground in such a short time with where they are still coming from. But would love there to be more. Still so much time stretching after that though for such as Mika and Mimi ...

Hannah was also on the lists for Glasgow but has since pulled out. I was hoping to see all three youngsters in action together again but it looks as if I will have to wait a while.
Thanks its not good news they dont think he will recover massive bleed in the brain. I am.going down to Bristol on Monday to see him .
I hope everyone enjoys the tennis in Glasgow sadly I won't make it this year.
Glasgow qualifying draw is out, and not only are Mimi and Mika NOT in the draw, but others are missing as well so must have wild cards. I'll start the thread now and post the draw shortly.
Mimi was very impressive, always looked like she would win; though Lily did manage to flummox Mimi a little whenever she could turn the match into a contest of backhand slices - Lily certainly has an impressively various box of tricks
I wasnt following British tennis when Andy Murray was a junior, and I rarely get a chance to see live matches in person, so my opinion may well have little weight, but I think Mika may be a better prospect than Andy ever was. Or Emma. Or anyone. There wasnt a single point in the match that it didnt look like a mismatch. Physically. Mika looks like a Playstation designer-a-tennis-player created in cheat mode.Barring injury, or an imminent Trumpocalypse, I can't conceive how she could fail to be a serious contender for the Slams, at minimum.
Had a brief chat with Jeremy Bates in the carpark. He's ... diffident; but actually I think that could be good for Mika, at this point. Most of the points she dropped were due to her overhitting, and missing the court - having a poundshop Lendl, instead of a cheerleader, in her corner might just help with this.
Chatted to a few other spectators; Mimi has some home support as a Welsh lass. So Mika may be playing against the crowd tomorrow.
