One more win and JoMo actually reaches a career high ranking. Two more wins for top 200.
Good to see and pretty well timed, especially if he can add at least one more win.
This is the first of 4 weeks where he has a significant batch of points to defend. He has 4 lots of M25 title points coming off in successive weeks from that great run early in his pro career.
So these represent 100 out of the 245 points he had coming in here with before this week 'just' a further 145 counting points earned this year.
44 points for reaching the final here would be a best ever counter and yes push him up past his current CH 216 onto 264 points, dead level on points with both Arhur and George as GB # 11, 12 & 13. Winning the title and 75 points would see him pass Jay and Ryan too to sit at GB #9, and be our 11th guy in the top 200, for one week at least.
Interesting comments from JoMo. He evaluated his first full year on the pro tour as "not horrific," getting to 220 in the world but feels he could have done better. A lot of ups and downs. He's had a couple of injuries over the course of the season, and in particular, he feels it's taken time getting used to the scheduling.
He feels he's played too many tournaments in 2025, as training weeks are important. But it's difficult as a pro because you lose early one week, you immediately want to play another tournament the next week and fix it. And if you're winning, you want to keep winning. But he says he won't make that mistake next year.
He's also been working a lot on the physical side of the game, getting stronger and putting the hours in the gym.
He also says he feels at home being back at Lincoln and many of the sites from the US college tour which is helping him this week.

Thanks Sheddie - growing into being a pro. Maybe Jake is also at that stage, in a sort of accelerated fashion; working it all out.
My own impressions, having not really watched a JoMo game since his lost to Tommy Paul at Wimbledon. Watched a little of his win against Mmoh and he was far more consistent from the back.
When I was watching him in the futures this time last year, he had this enormous serve which none of the guys at that level could handle, and some big shots, but he was very inconsistent in the rallies. Mix of huge winners and soft errors.
Looks a far more rounded player one year on. Seems to be moving a lot better as well, which is probably the reason for the consistency. He's got a lot of points coming off next few weeks so it'll probably be tough for him to make AO qualies, but level wise, he's definitely reaching a good place.

Yeah totally. I think with Jake it's easy to forget this is only his first full year on tour. He had such a spectacular rise, getting into the top 50 from nowhere, a bit of a blip was inevitable. The level's still there, but he's clearly going through a little patch where he's struggling with belief and seems to have got a bit of the yips with his serve.
But I'm sure it will come good and he'll be back in the top 50 before long.
Listening to JoMo, what a strange accent. The guy is from Hull and then college in the US south. His accent sounds like a bit of Germanic in there with some Scottish thrown in and then overload with a bit of American twang.
Whered he develop all that from
