Week 40 - ATP Challenger 75 - Open de Vendée - Mouilleron-le-Captif, France (indoor hard)

October 2023, Arthur beat Belgian star David Goffin here at this same event, in the last 8, it was his first top 100 win, Goffin was ranked 99 at the time. Arthur went on to be runner up in that event.

Needs to look back to that and take that into the match tomorrow, against a Belgian star ranked in the 90s.

Collignon is in some form- US Open 3rd round; beat AdM and Vukic in Davis Cup the other weekend; then went and reached the Orleans final last event.

V juicy match up with Arthur.

Really enjoyed that last 20 mins

Really intense

But Arhur was twice a break up in the TB, and then just overcooked things

However, some excellent tennis there

So close and a great effort. Arthur did well to push a player ranked 90 all the way.

Pity. Arthur strolled the final set on serve until it came to the TB.

Still, a very good effort.

Yes but both Arthur and George had every chance of winning their matches today, both playing guys well higher ranked, and both came up short just at the last

It's a shame to miss out on both cry

This was the first time I've watched Arthur for an extended period. I watched the first set and half but had to go somewhere and so didn't see the 2nd half of the match. When watching I actually forgot the difference in ranking. There wasn't much to choose between them and superiority was swinging from one to the other.

Arthur was certainly mixing it up when I was watching. Baseline rallies, drop shot and lob combo, serve and volley. He was moving the ball around the court better than his opponent during the rallies but lacked power, otherwise it looked like he would be a clear winner.
