Im not sure JoMos form is that concerning. He was doing fine, progressing well, won his last M25 in March and then stepped up to challenger level. The step up to a higher level has exposed some weaknesses but he did reach two challenger quarterfinal rounds in Spanish challengers in July. He also beat Atmane at Ilkley and Atmane was in a masters 1000 semi just 8 weeks later.
His form drop coincided with that step up. Hes a big guy and players at that level can a) get his serve back b) move him around.
So he needs to learn, adapt, probably get his movement better and see where it goes.
Its a shame and clearly Arthur and JPJ are making more headway currently, but I dont think its a massive concern at all!
I tend to agree with Jon's a bit less concerned thoughts about JoMo. And yes it may be more that his relative weaknesses, eg. movement, are generally rather more exposed in challengers, rather than he has been playing less well.
Certainly for those with an interest in the top 10 predictions there is a lot of room for changes in the bottom half of the top 10 and beyond, from GB #6 ( Oliver C WR 184 ) to GB #13 ( George L WR 254 ). Good to have 13 in or around the top 250. I wonder who might push on towards the top 150 or beyond over the next year.
I'd like to see George L back on a tennis court fairly soon. I hope he doesn't go MIA for a while again ( edit: actually I see that he is entered into a Swedish M25 in Week 39 ).
