Up to 913 points and will be ranked in the 70s. Yipee!
912 points of which are guaranteed for the year end, because as has been said after this week she just has a counter of 16 to come off and that can be replaced by 15. Looking ranked about 60 for points won this year so far.
Fran has succeeded where Sonay and Katie have failed in the last few weeks and that is to beat Sierra. It is hard to believe that Fran has overtaken Sonay in the WTA live rankings when after Wimbledon in live rankings Sonay was 51 and Fran was 122. An unfortunate reflection in that Sonay has not won any matches since Wimbedon and the points from winning Tunisia last year have dropped off.

But Sonay has lost three in a row three set matches since Wimbledon, and against Sierra was 6-7 in third. Can easily happen when playing higher level tournaments since last years ranking rise. It's fine margins and seems a bit harsh on a thread on Fran's success in this tournament.

I'm not sure Sonay's been 100% fit since Wimbledon either.
A dilemma for Annie next week, does she pick Fran as the in-form player for singles over Sonay? I'd be surprised given she wasn't in the original squad.

Fran will be arriving late to the venue after a hard week's tennis physically and emotionally. For the first match Sonay and Katie feel to me the right choice even with disparate form. If we win that, then I think there's a tougher question as the week goes on, as in many ways Katie is the obvious one to drop...
