Having just beaten the top seeds they now face the third seeds

SF:- Alicia Dudeney (GBR) / Megan Heuser (USA) UNR (610+UNR) v Noelia Bouzo Zanotti (ESP) / Francesca Dell'Edera (ITA) CR2002 (882+1120) [3]

Whom they beat, in super quick style

SF:- Alicia Dudeney (GBR) / Megan Heuser (USA) UNR (610+UNR) def. Noelia Bouzo Zanotti (ESP) / Francesca Dell'Edera (ITA) CR2002 (882+1120) [3]  6-0 6-2

Alicia has played four sets of tennis today - and lost three games biggrin

That's a good win. Victoria is an 18 year old with a JCH of 67. Any youngster with a JCH inside the top 100 usually does pretty well at the W15 level.

Trouble for her no doubt was that Alicia is rather more than a W15 level player.

Yes, she has progressed rapidly. She was playing W15 qualifying tournaments as recently as the end of May. Since then she has won a W35 and a W15.

Progressed in terms of ranking, but not really tennis

Because her ranking wasn't a true one (as applies to many of the college players).

They're playing WTA 500 level, say, but are unranked - the tennis doesn't need to progress, just the ranking, which has to be done gradually unless your federation gives you generous wildcards
