Hmm Cerundolo takes a medical time out at 4-5. Dan not impressed

He definitely wasn't, was he? biggrinbiggrinbiggrin

And was VERY happy to prove his point and win that first set smile

Wasn't it Dan who left the court?  There was discussion, but Dan defintely left the court.

If he can maintain this level, he has this match.

Dan left court while Cerundolo was having time-out

This is great to see from Billy.

I moaned ( and moaned ) about him not going back to the Asian hard courts during the clay season, and thus very probably clinching a top 100 spot. But as he climbs the rankings again how good would it be if in time ( a way to go yet ) he does claim a top 100 spot and does it his wsy. Tbh I didn't see this latest form coming. Well done, keep it going!

It was Cerundulo who called the MTO

Dan objected but was 'overruled', let's say.

And then went off for the time of the MTO

Dan has also been having a lot of problems as the stringers have lost his racket/don't have enough natural gut/can't be bothered

I assume ATP qualifying starts tomorrow which would rule both of them out (If Dan wins)

He's finally been treated and playing again

NOT in a good mood either (understandably)

Some classic Dan comments ....

He used the 'f' word to complain about how long the physio was taking to come

And, after all the treatment, the umpire says apologetically, I'm going to have to give you a code violation

Which Dan sort of accepts, but also wants to make his point, and says he wouldn't have needed to use it if they'd done their job properly and got the physio there promptly

Umpire: Yes, Dan, but we were doing our best

Dan: Yes - but I was doing my best too, and I fell, got broken, and get nothing

And now, on break point, Dan has got a BLATANTLY wrong call, against him, on his break point

Oh Lord, it's all kicking off

A few months ago I thought Billy's top 100 dream was very much gone, but he's really nudging his way back up. Great to see - hopefully last week's challenger title will be a monkey off his back - and onto more to come.

And now Cerundulo's ball is clearly in, at the same place, but called out

Dan won't give the point because they both know that both calls were wrong

He still breaks again though, so 3 breaks to start the second set. 6-4 *2-1

Go Dan !!

But having broken back, and won the first point, he decides to call it quits and says his wrist is hurting
